Paul Holmes a Complete Waste of Time

A few days ago there was some discussion about the repugnant racist statements made by Paul Holmes about Maori and Waitangi Day.  It was asked what his rave would look like if we turned it around… so here’s one view of how it would look. This is a re-write of much of his statement however it now has a Maori twist and is focused on him.  There is no doubt that Mr Holmes is lacking in any sense of justice when it comes to Maori issues. He is arrogant and uses his role as a public figure in broadcasting to vent his racist and ignorant views.  So whanau, here’s the rewrite. Excuse any typos or sentences that may not be that clear but that’s how the man writes (haha.. and its late and so am not wanting to give this too much more energy)  and given his lack of intellectual ability, it wasn’t that hard to do.  Nga mihi.

It’s Time To Cancel Our Repugnant Broadcaster.

Paul Holmes produced his usual hatred, rudeness, and violence against a clearly defined National Day.  He comes from a group of hateful, hate-fuelled weirdos who seem to exist in a perfect world of corporate greed. This enables them to blissfully continue to believe that New Zealand is the centre of the world, no one has to have any ethics and not paying tax is all that matters.

I’m over Paul Holmes. He is repugnant. He is a ghastly affair. As I lie in bed on Waitangi morning, I know that later that evening, the news will show us irrational Pakeha ghastliness with asset sales, smugness, self-righteousness and the usual neurotic Right Wing politics, in which some bizarre new coporate fraud we’ve never thought about will be lying on the table.

This, we will have to address and somehow apply these never-defined principles of the 1% because it is, apparently, the next big bailout. There’ll be lengthy discussion, we’ll end up paying the usual millions into the hands of the Pakeha aristocracy and God knows where it’ll go from there.

Well, it’s bullshit. It’s a litany of lies. It is loony Pakeha fringe corporate self-interest. It’s a process by which nothing is addressed, not even the real stuff.

Never mind the child poverty stats, never mind the national fraud stats, never mind the hopeless failure of Pakeha education system to educate all children and the inability of  Pakeha health system to provide adequate health care for all. Yes, it’s all the Pakeha’s fault. It’s all about colonisation. Believe me, that’s what it looked like when the land grabs happened over the past 200 years.

John Key speaks about privatisation again. He should not go there again.  He should not be selling our assets. It’s over. Forget it. It is too awful and nasty and common. It is no more beneficial to New Zealand day than Halloween.

Our national day is Waitangi Day. Waitangi Day is a day of honour, and struggle, bravery and sacrifice. A day on which we commemorate the time when  our ancestors sought to put into place a convenant that would protect future generations.  It is day that signifies a belief in a partnership. A partnership that is yet to be honoured.  And Paul Holmes does nothing but degrade that day. He spits his words onto past, present and future descendants of those tupuna.

I wouldn’t let the memory of our thousands of ancestors who were killed through colonial genocide to be reported by Paul Holmes and expect  that he is would actually broadcast facts. I wouldn’t take any of our whānau, hapū or iwi to see or hear him, then try and tell them that Paul Holmes was anything but filth.

No, if some Pakeha want to claim Paul Holmes for themselves, let them have him. Let successive colonial governments go and raid more innocent activists and communities, and confiscate the foreshore and seabead and sell private quotas of kaimoana and pollute our seas so that Māori and communities can not feed themselves from their seabeds.   Let Paul Holmes and those like him feed themselves silly, speak in racist terms and feed of the denial injustices that have happened whilst they work out new ways of bamboozling the public to come up more tax cuts and loopholes to make sure they end up with a few more millions in their corporate pockets.

When you start listening to talkback or any kind of opinion broadcasting in New Zealand you learn that certain groups are loony, highly vocal, highly organised and they never rest. The second looniest are the know-it-all racist radio presenters crowd. Lets not leave them aside, as Paul Holmes is leading that loony fringe.

Paul Holmes says that “the looniest crowd in this country, the most irrational and bullying are La Leche, the breast feeding fascists who’ve become involved in the most bizarre controversy I can remember. Breast feeding is all they think about”.  Paul Holmes is clearly knowledgeable about breastfeeding because he has breast fed how many children?  Oh that’s right, looney Paul really has no idea what he is talking about.  So Paul Holmes who attacks Māori who seek injustice rants about how great Piri Weepu is, and Piri is great, he is incredible. He is Māori. He is proud to be Māori.  And we love him for it. Do you get it Paul Holmes… after your rant about how terrible Māori are you then rave about Piri Weepu.  Paul Holmes, do you get it – you wrote “That was the message, for God’s sake. And it’s a nice image. Dad, an All Black hero, Maori of the Year, bottle-feeding his little girl”. He’s a Māori Mr Holmes… do you get your own message, a Māori man, a powerful Māori man, a proud Māori man, with a job, a loving father, a wonderful model… he even pays taxes.  Now Mr Paul Holmes, do you see how totally ridiculous and contradictory your anti-Māori racist ranting is… and you wrote it, full of hatred and full of contradictions.

So who exactly should get some “balls” and stand up against injustice.  Do you have any “balls” Paul Holmes to stand up against injustice both past and present. No you don’t have any of those “balls” that you say others should get.  “Paul Holmes has no balls”, that should be the title of your racist rave, as demeaning racist articles come from those don’t have enough “balls’ to acknowledge their own self-interest.

So now there is overwhelming opposition to the Paul Holmes anti-Māori, racist remarks.  Will his employer call him to account. I bet not. And I bet I know why, because he is a desperate ‘on the way down broadcaster’ who has nowhere else to go and so his corporate employers will ignore the opposition.  Because that’s what the corporate 1% do, they protect their mates.  Paul Holmes employers should show some common sense, grow some balls, and learn to stand up to such a clearly intolerant racist employee.  And as for his irrational rant about Syria and who Bashir is married to, well that just speaks for itself really,  the level of Paul Holmes ‘journalism’ (which is a term we use hesitantly) sinks into useless information.

So now Paul Holmes will grind on in broken, in abject misery for the rest of the year until he again shoots his mouth off.  I can’t figure old rat-face Paul Holmes. He must know that he’s going the way of other racists who use television and radio to air their ignorance and intolerance, until he ends up as a refuge in a filthy sewer pipe for a while before the sack, and being given a progamme on channel 17 at 1am, in television ghetto so to speak. He must know what’s coming. Armageddon is what’s coming. And this time Paul Holmes, Maori won’t pull you out of the sea.
